Begonia is a perennial flowering plants that’s commonly grown indoors as ornamental houseplants in cooler climates or outside in warmer climates. Perfect potted plants addition for your patio or living room. The name ‘Escargot’ comes from the snail-like curl pattern at the base of the leaf.
Light: Partial shade and place in good bright light.
Watering: Allow almost dry between watering and avoid over-watering. Water less in Winter.
Provide organic, good-draining soil with lots of humidity. Water when soil is dry to the touch. Avoid soggy conditions, but do not allow plants to wilt. Remove dead leaves promptly and keep the soil surface free of debris to avoid disease problems.
Temperature: Keep humidity above 50% and night temperatures above 60-65ºF.
Fertilizing: Do not over-fertilize. Stop fertilizing in the winter.
Growth cycle slows and stops for 2-3 months in the winter and plants can lose some leaves during this resting period. This is normal. Continue normal watering.
